The Geopolitical Capital Club (GCC) is a selective, interdisciplinary student organization built for students who want to develop a stronger understanding of how global events shape markets, businesses, and new ventures.
GCC combines structured learning with hands-on experience. During the first semester, members rotate between venture analysis and venture creation, building foundational skills while applying them to real-world geopolitical and economic developments. In the second semester, the club selects one business concept and works together to develop and launch it.
Rather than recruiting for prior expertise, GCC looks for curiosity, commitment, and a willingness to learn. Members contribute across strategy, finance, technology, growth, outreach, and operations while helping build ventures that can continue beyond a single academic year.
“If you go into an industry that you don’t know a lot about, it forces you to ask a lot of questions and to take a fresh perspective, because you have no other perspective.” - Jeff Sprecher, founder of Intercontinental Exchange, the company that owns the New York Stock Exchange
Cohort Members make up the core of GCC and are automatically enrolled in the Global Venture Program. Throughout the year, members rotate through venture analysis and venture creation, work in teams during weekly meetings, and later contribute to one of the club’s functional divisions as GCC develops and launches its annual startup. No prior experience is required.
Three introductory general meetings will be open to all students interested in applying for Cohort Membership. These sessions will introduce GCC’s structure, mission, and Global Venture Program while giving prospective members a sense of how the club approaches geopolitics, markets, and entrepreneurship.
Once the Cohort is selected, members will attend 60-minute weekly program meetings. During the first semester, meetings will support the Global Venture Rotation, with time split between structured learning, discussion, and team-based work in Venture Analysis and Venture Studio. In the second semester, meetings will shift toward developing and executing GCC’s selected Annual Venture.
