GCC operates in two phases across the academic year. During the first semester, cohort members complete the Global Venture Rotation, splitting their time between structured learning and hands-on work in venture creation and investment analysis. Midway through the semester, members rotate so everyone experiences both sides of the process.
During the second semester, the club shifts from learning to execution. Members vote on one business concept to pursue, then work across functional teams such as strategy, finance, product, growth, outreach, and operations to develop and launch the venture.
The Executive Board also shifts roles throughout the year, leading education and programming in the first semester before moving into a guidance and coordination role as members take greater ownership of the startup in the second.
Cohort Membership is open to all students through an application process and is designed for those with limited prior experience in geopolitics, finance, economics, or entrepreneurship. GCC prioritizes curiosity, commitment, intellectual humility, and a willingness to learn over existing technical knowledge.
Cohort Members participate in weekly meetings and the full-year GCC Global Venture Program. During the first semester, members complete the Global Venture Rotation, gaining experience in both Venture Analysis and Venture Studio through a mix of instruction, research, discussion, and team-based work.
In the second semester, the Cohort shifts from learning to execution. After selecting one Annual Venture, members join one of GCC’s six functional divisions across strategy, finance, outreach, product and technology, growth, and operations to help develop, test, and launch the company.
The Executive Board oversees the leadership, programming, and operations of GCC. During the first semester, the board leads the educational portion of the Global Venture Rotation and guides members through both venture creation and investment analysis.
The program is organized into two teams. The Venture Analysis Team, led by the Venture Analysis Lead, includes Geopolitical Intelligence & Strategy, Finance & Venture Analysis, and Outreach & Partnerships. The Venture Studio Team, led by the Venture Studio Lead, includes Product & Technology, Growth, Brand & Market, and Operations, Legal & Execution.
During the second semester, the board transitions from an educational role to a guidance and coordination role as members take greater responsibility for developing GCC’s selected annual venture. The board supports collaboration between both teams, allocates resources, tracks progress, and maintains continuity across GCC’s ventures from year to year.
